I have had big eye floaters in my left eye now for two years and am sick of them. I heard there is laser to get rid of them but want to know if anyone had this and does it work and is it safe?
Chosen Answer:
there is no such a thing as laser to remove floaters. I know it can be really annoying sometimes but you just have to bear with it unfortunately. your brain will learn to ignore them over time.
floaters are in the jelly part of the eye (vitreous). so the only way of removing floaters is by removing all of the jelly part of the eye. this is only done in very rare circumstances when the floaters are causing a major loss in vision, there are too many risks with this sort of surgery for it to be used routinely for small floater. the vitreous supports the retina and is attatched to the retina in some places to any operation to remove it could result in a retinal detatchment and this can casue you to lose your sight.
